Dave Franco has been busy lately, working on multiple projects this year. His next film, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is set to release in November 2025. In a recent interview, the youngest of the Franco brothers opened up about his thoughts on the nepo-sibling allegations against him.
Dave Franco tackles nepo-sibling allegations
Dave Franco recently sat down for an interview with Bustle, and one particularly interesting topic arose. As he spoke about his acting career, Franco opened up about his perspective on accusations of arriving in Hollywood as a nepo-sibling. He began by explaining how no one was going to hire him, only because he was James Franco’s brother. “If I sucked, I would’ve disappeared very quickly.”
And Franco did not completely deny the nepo-sibling accusation. He admitted that James did help him get an agent and set the stage for him. Furthermore, referring to James’ perspective, he mentioned that at this point, his brother is just excited to see him grow and try new things.
Earlier this year, Dave Franco’s movie Together premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. This body horror starred him alongside his wife, Alison Brie. The 40-year-old also shared how he now spends more time with his wife than with his brother. When talking about what he thinks of people saying he’s just Alison Brie’s husband, he replied, “It’s worth it.”
Meanwhile, with two recent projects and a total of three in 2025, Dave Franco definitely seems to be picking up the pace and staying consistent. He also stars in Regretting You, based on the Colleen Hoover novel, which is out now. His upcoming film, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, will be released in theaters on November 14, 2025. This third installment of the Now You See Me franchise comes out almost a decade after Now You See Me 2.
