Alexandra Daddario Comedy Movie Finds New Streaming Home

Dwayne Johnson’s old action movie, alongside actresses like Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is arriving on Prime Video. Baywatch is based on the iconic 1989 TV series by the same name. Apart from Johnson, Daddario, and Jonas, the movie features talents like Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach, and many more.

2017’s Baywatch movie to stream on Prime Video soon

Dwayne Johnson’s Baywatch movie is finally arriving on Prime Video this holiday season. The 2017 movie is set to make its way to the platform on November 9, 2025. Directed by Seth Gordon, the action comedy follows the adventures of a group of lifeguards led by Johnson’s Mitch Buchannon, as they go up against a dangerous drug lord.

While the movie didn’t enjoy much success at the box office, it is looking to turn out to turn well on the streaming service. Baywatch was released in theaters in May 2017 and went on to gross a total of $177 million at the box office. It was reported that it was made on a budget of $69 million and opened with $18 million.

Despite being inspired by a highly popular TV show of the same name, the film went on to become a disaster at the box office and among the critics. Baywatch also has a low score of 18 percent on Tomatometer and 55 percent on the Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes.

Soon after the release of the movie, there were talks of a sequel. However, there has been no promising update regarding this at the time of writing. In 2017, producer Beau Flynn talked to Variety about his plans for a sequel. He said that they “have an amazing story already.” Flynn further stated that they’re bringing back the writer of the first movie, Shannon and Swift. Moreover, he knew “Dwayne would be in.”

Flynn also expressed at that time that he was certain Zac Efron and the female cast members would be up for the sequel as well. He stated that that have a “really cool idea to put them in this whole new world. We would take it overseas.”
