Katy Perry recently celebrated her birthday backstage during her ongoing Lifetimes Tour. However, instead of eating her birthday cake, she attempted to throw it at one of her crew members, and her behaviour hasn’t gone down well with many fans online.

Katy Perry’s failed “cake face” attempt in a viral birthday clip has garnered criticism from fans online. The “Roar” singer celebrated her 41st birthday with her crew backstage at one of the tour stops for her Lifetimes Tour. In a video shared by Katherine Jayne on X, Perry can be seen blowing out the candles on her birthday cake.
However, she then rushes towards an unidentified crew member and attempts to hurl the cake at them. The target misses the mark and lands on the floor instead. Katy laughs as her crew members eat the cake off the floor.
Katherine Jayne reveals in her caption that her mother baked the birthday cake for the pop star. Jayne wrote, “My mom was the one that baked this cake, she was so excited about the opportunity to make a cake for Katy Perry and spent so long on it, I’m genuinely confused and upset as to why she would do this.”
Many fans were sorry to read Katherine Jayne’s post and slammed Perry in the comments.
One fan commented, “I don’t understand why some people do this, ruining a beautiful cake like it means nothing. In other parts of the world, there are kids who can’t even have a cake on their birthday. It’s such a waste and a sign of disrespect to the baker who put so much effort into creating the cake.”
Another fan expressed solidarity with Jayne and wrote, “I wonder what having that mindset is like, to just throw away a whole cake everyone could’ve enjoyed… and then leaving that mess on the floor for someone else to clean up, ’cause I know damn well she ain’t pick up no broom and mop after lol.”
