Taylor Swift’s dancing was reportedly not good in the past. Recently, Mandy Moore, the A-list choreographer who played a major role in The Eras Tour, opened up about the singer’s foot skills. She claimed that the 35-year-old artist was “really in her head” and had gotten a “bad rap” for her dancing. However, it seemed to have improved because of the pop icon’s hard work. Moore’s recent work could be witnessed in Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Taylor Swift’s dancing has received ‘bad rap’ for long time, says A-list choreographer
Taylor Swift mesmerized fans with her dancing skills in the latest song, “The Fate of Ophelia,” from her album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” But the credit not only goes to her but also to the famous choreographer Mandy Moore. The latter has been working with the pop sensation for a long time, including The Eras Tour.
In an interview with The New York Times, Moore was asked how she helped the songwriter become a “more confident dancer.” In response, the instructor stated that Swift used to have a “bad rap” for her dancing skills for a long time. “So she was really in her head,” the professional dancer stated. This seemed to have affected the “Cruel Summer” vocalist’s confidence. But things changed after the choreographer tried a different technique.
“We shifted the focus to how movement was already manifesting in her body — the way she naturally wanted to move,” Moore said. Although she “fine-tuned” the soloist’s moves, the 49-year-old producer gave credit to Swift’s “tenacity” and hard work.
“Whatever I was putting down, she was picking up. And she’s very clear about what she wants, which I love,” she mentioned. Furthermore, Moore had the freedom to work on some “parameters” with the “Lover” hitmaker. This helped to avoid the process from being chaotic.
For those unversed, Moore is known for her work in projects, including “La La Land” and “Silver Linings Playbook.” She has also showcased her talent in “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing With the Stars.”
