William Daniels criticizes Donald Trump after White House East Wing demolition
Following Donald Trump’s decision to demolish White House East Wing, Boy Meets World star William Daniels took to Instagram to share his opinion about it.
Daniels recently posted a still from his 1972 movie, 1776, where he played John Adams, one of the founding fathers and the second president of the United States. The photo also features Howard Da Silva and Ken Howard, who played Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, respectively.
The post was accompanied by a caption with his perspective on the situation. He wrote, “We performed ‘1776’ in the beautiful East Room when Nixon was in the White House. He was very gracious even though none of us had voted for him.”
Being critical about Trump’s decision, he added, “The current president has ripped a piece of history from our lives and we mustn’t take this lightly.”
Daniels’ comments come amid news of Donald Trump demolishing the White House East Wing to replace it with a ballroom. Initially, the project was estimated to cost around $200 million. However, new reports reveal that the project will now cost $300 million (via USA Today). “We’re making it a little bigger. It will be top of the line, as good as it can get anywhere in the world.” Trump told NBC. He also noted that it will have a capacity of 900 people.
On a different note, William Daniels reunited with his Boy Meets World co-star, Danielle Fishel, on Dancing With the Stars’ Dedication Night earlier this month.
She performed to the sitcom’s theme song with her dance partner, Pasha Pashkov.
