Lori Loughlin and John Stamos have been best pals since the ’80s, but their friendship reportedly irked her ex, Mossimo Giannulli. The latter and Loughlin recently ended their 28-year marriage. According to a source, the fashion mogul seemingly didn’t trust the “Full House” alum with his ex-wife. For those unaware, the 61-year-old actor has co-starred with Stamos in the ABC sitcom. Despite their on-screen chemistry, they have seemingly been just friends all their lives.
Lori Loughlin’s ex called her friendship with John Stamos ‘too flirty for comfort,’ per source
Lori Loughlin’s ex, Mossimo Giannulli, reportedly despised her and John Stamos’ friendship. A source told Rob Shuter that he used to call the “Full House” co-stars’ interactions “too flirty for comfort.” The on-screen pair have known each other since the 80s and have been good friends to date.
Due to their characters on the ABC drama, their chemistry was described as “incredible” on-screen. But Giannulli seemed to be suspicious about Stamos’s relationship with his ex-wife. He doubted that the co-actors’ closeness was not “just acting.” “He thought John’s charm didn’t stop when the cameras did,” the insider added.
According to sources, the 62-year-old fashion designer’s discomfort used to escalate during charity galas and public events. He used to get annoyed seeing how his then-wife’s face would light up as soon as the “Big Shot” star would walk in. “Mossimo would shut down. He saw John as competition — not Uncle Jesse,” the insider claimed.
Reportedly, Stamos stood by Loughlin’s side during her tough phase. Allegedly, Giannulli didn’t consider his good intentions as “friendship,” but “crossing a line.”
The news came after the 62-year-old actor-musician appeared in a recent episode of the “Good Guys” podcast. Hosts Josh Peck and Ben Soffer asked him several questions about his personal life, including his relationship with Loughlin. Stamos clarified, saying that it was “always platonic.”
