The show has been a topic of discussion among fans, who have been eagerly awaiting updates on its premiere schedule. Now, viewers finally know when City of Shadows will come out on the streaming platform.
City of Shadows’ Netflix release date set for December
Produced by Spanish studio Arcadia, City of Shadows will exclusively premiere on its over-the-top streaming service on December 12, 2025.
According to the latest briefing from Netflix, the thriller series will become available for streaming across the globe on the same day.
City of Shadows centers around a gruesome crime that takes place in La Pedrera – Casa Milà of Barcelona, Spain. After a burned body is discovered in the confines of Antoni Gaudí’s iconic building, Inspector Milo Malart comes back to the Catalan capital to tackle the case. Having served a period of suspension from the Mossos d’Esquadra, he teams up with Deputy Inspector Rebeca Garrido to uncover the truth behind the shocking crime.
Isak Férriz of Bank Robbery and Burning Body fame leads the cast of City of Shadows, donning the mantle of Milo Malart. Meanwhile, Intimacy star Verónica Echegui portrays the role of Rebeca Garrido, who aids Férriz’s Malart in the case. Additional cast members include the likes of Ana Wagener, Manolo Solo, and Jordi Ballester.
Meanwhile, Jorge Torregrossa serves as the director of the Spanish thriller series. Moreover, Carlos López and Clara Esparrach are coming in as the screenwriters. Filming of the show took place in Catalonia and features some of the most culturally important structures of Barcelona.
City of Shadows comprises a total of six episodes, which adapt Aro Sáinz de la Maza’s first novel in his Milo Malart series. While the runtime of each chapter remains unknown at the time of writing, all six episodes of the show will drop on Netflix on December 12, 2025.
