Andy Reid Says Travis Kelce’s ‘Got Energy Everyday’

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid praised the team’s energy and appreciated Travis Kelce after the Chiefs vs the Commanders game at Arrowhead Stadium. The coach said that the club toughened up after a shaky first half.

Reid opened up by thanking the crowd and noting how many fans had shown up for the game. He also had strong words for Kelce, who continues to prove his worth every game.

While talking about Travis Kelce tying the all-time franchise touchdown record, coach Andy Reid said, “Yeah, I mean that’s a compliment to him. There have been some great tight ends here over the years, so for him to be able to do what he’s done over this amount of time is great. And still, as you guys know, you come out to practice, you see that energy. He’s got energy every day, and he’s not the youngest guy, so he just goes and goes.” (via Kansas City Chiefs)

Reid then talked about how Kelce brings consistent energy to the team every day, and even though he had a dropped ball pass early on, the player bounced off. The coach felt like this was a sign of a veteran who keeps learning from his mistakes and works through them.

Reid explained that, “those things happen, and you know the main thing he didn’t do is hang his head on it. He was mad at himself, but he works through those things. Nothing like getting another catch. So, you get another catch, and you kind of erase that. He had some big ones there. So, a lot of production.”

Andy Reid then talked about the coaching staff and how Mahomes was willing to target Travis Kelce again. It was because the tight end had recovered quickly and then stayed involved, unlike most quarterbacks.
