Travis Kelce Included Taylor Swift in Touchdown Celebration, Fans Say

Travis Kelce turned a career-defining football moment into a pop culture crossover when he appeared to honor fiancée Taylor Swift during his latest touchdown celebration. The Kansas City Chiefs star reached a major milestone on Monday night — his 100th career receiving touchdown — and his celebratory dance quickly had Swifties buzzing that it was a nod to the singer’s viral “The Fate of Ophelia” trend.

Fans say Travis Kelce danced to Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ trend after touchdown

It was a big night for Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs as they defeated the Washington Commanders in front of a roaring home crowd at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. But while the victory and Kelce’s historic 100th touchdown were impressive enough, it was his dance afterwards that stole the spotlight.

Moments after catching a third-quarter touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes, Kelce broke into a short, stylized dance. With Swift watching from a suite alongside Brittany Mahomes, fans quickly noticed the moves bore a striking resemblance to the choreography from Swift’s “Fate of Ophelia,” the lead single off her new album “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Within minutes, social media lit up. “Travis doing the Ophelia dance,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another joked, “Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes,” echoing the song’s lyrics. A video clip of the moment quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of views, solidifying the theory that the celebration was no coincidence.

Swift, who turned heads as she cheered from her suite, was reportedly seen laughing and pretending to faint after Kelce’s big play. It was perhaps a playful nod to the couple’s growing list of viral game-day moments.

The Chiefs’ tight end hasn’t publicly commented on whether the celebration was a deliberate tribute. Nonetheless, the timing — and his proud glance toward Swift’s suite — didn’t go unnoticed.

In true Swift-Kelce fashion, a touchdown became more than just a score; it became a shared stage.
