Cardi B Blames ‘Bad Economy’ For Financial Struggles of Sex Workers

Cardi B used an out-of-the-ordinary example during her recent Instagram live to emphasize how bad the economy has become. She nudged the viewers to look at the ones whose jobs are often overlooked. The rapper noted that the falling wages of sex workers are a sign of broader economic strain. Moreover, she feels that people are unable to make luxury purchases now because of how household budgets are tightening.

The “WAP” singer, during her Instagram live, mentioned how a shift in earnings for people in the sex work industry shows how deep money problems have become. She revealed that the fees she remembers being common have dropped sharply.

Cardi B argued that the cost squeeze is hitting people across many sectors. She then went on to criticize the recent federal policy decisions and the policy reaction to them. Speaking about the current Trump administration, the 33-year-old rapper said, “Donald Trump was never for y’all poor motherf*****s.”

Reporting on the current condition, Cardi B said, “You know how you know that the economy is bad? Because not even the prostitutes is getting fly. Where have you seen a h*e with a good Chanel bag? B*****s was buying Chanel bags like they was f*****g female rappers.”

The Grammy winner added, “Where have you seen a b***h with a chain with her name on it? Huh? … Where have you seen a b***h pop out with a f*****g good Birkin? Even the prostitutes going through it. The h**s was selling p***y for $10,000. Now the b*****s is going for $2,500. ‘Cause the f*****g economy is bad.”

Adding to her stance, Cardi B has recently also talked about the cuts to the food assistance program. She brought attention to the $186 billion reduction in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funding and claimed that this affects the families who were dependent on the aid.

“These are the type of things I was trying to tell y’all about when I was talking about the Trump administration. But all y’all cared about was me saying ‘Shrump,” the “Bodak Yellow” crooner said.
