During his latest YouTube livestream, Darren Watkins Jr., AKA IShowSpeed, teased a potential collaboration with Fortnite. The six-and-a-half-hour stream featured a reunion with a fan from one of his earlier Fortnite livestreams from 2021. However, fans speculate that IShowSpeed’s potential Fortnite crossover could also mean a new icon skin being introduced in the game.
IShowSpeed apparently hints at Fortnite crossover in viral clip
During his most recent livestream, the 20-year-old internet personality hinted at a Fortnite crossover.
On the said YouTube livestream, IShowSpeed played Fortnite with the “My Mom’s Kinda Homeless” fan, Acey, who went viral after appearing on his livestream in December 2021. They hopped onto the game together and recreated the moment that went viral, almost four years after it happened.
However, later, as he waited in the game lobby with fellow livestreamer Jynxzi, IShowSpeed said with a smirk, “Speaking of Fortnite… I don’t wanna anything, but… let me just do this.” He then looked into the camera and winked twice. “That’s all I’mma say,” said the popular streamer, with a subtle smile on his face.
Fans have since reacted to the clip of the same going viral online, and to some, it seems pretty obvious what’s coming. One fan commented, “That will be legendary crossover, I swear,” while another wrote, “This gonna be fun.” However, a third fan stated, “Bro teasing us. But we know he is about to be a character skin on there.”
Fortnite often collaborates with livestreamers and YouTubers, adding their own icon skins to the game. An icon skin can be bought and equiped by any player, as part of a bundle or as a stand-alone cosmetic item within the game. Many other Fortnite streamers have already had the privilege of getting their own player skin in Fortnite, including Ninja, Lazarbeam, Lachlan and Nickeh30, among others.
Hence, it could be quite possible that fans might soon get to see an IShowSpeed character skin in Fortnite. Meanwhile, many users even seem to be asking for his iconic bark as an emote in the game. “Wtf woof woof is coming as an emote,” a fan wrote jokingly.
However, Fortnite has yet to officially confirm the chances of a collaboration with IShowSpeed.
