Never one to stray away from the media limelight, IShowSpeed is yet again dominating headlines for agreeing to help out the fan behind the famous ‘My Mom’s Kinda Homeless’ meme. The renowned content creator recently reunited with the said fan over a livestream, which ended in IShowSpeed, or Darren Jason Watkins Jr., as is his original name, gifting a house to the young man’s mother.
IShowSpeed reunites with early stream meme kid and promises home for his mother
On October 26, the popular YouTuber conducted a livestream that featured Acey, the fan responsible for the hugely popular ‘my mom’s kinda homeless’ meme.
During the aforementioned session, IShowSpeed promised Acey that he would buy a house for his mother if he could beat Speed in a 1v1 game of Fortnite. After the latter successfully defeated him in the bout, the internet celebrity honored his words. He called Acey’s mother and confirmed that he would soon purchase a home in Las Vegas for her.
Notably, Acey’s ‘My Mom’s Kinda Homeless’ dialogue became an online sensation four years ago when he encountered IShowSpeed during a Fortnite match-up. At one point during the game, he requested that IShowSpeed let him win by saying, “Please, Speed, I need this! My mom is kind of homeless. I live with my dad. I want to help her out,” while he tried to suppress his sobs.
Blindsided by Acey’s request, IShowSpeed reacted by closing his eyes. He also gave out a smile as he tried his best not to burst out in laughter. A third player then called out the streamer’s reaction, stating, “Speed, I’m watching the stream. Why are you trying not to laugh, bruh? That’s disrespectful as s**t, bruh!”
Now, IShowSpeed and the ‘My Mom’s Kinda Homeless’ guy reunited this Sunday after four years. Additionally, the user who mocked the 20-year-old online sensation was also present in the stream.
After Acey reigned supreme in their aforementioned wager, IShowSpeed called his mother to explain, “Four years ago, he said you were kind of homeless. He said you lived in a halfway house. He did win the wager. The wager was, if he wins, I’ll buy his mom a house in Las Vegas. He won, so I’ll be in contact so we can get you a house, so you won’t be homeless anymore.”
Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but get nostalgic about Acey and IShowSpeed’s first interaction in the comments section. “It was actually so magical getting to watch the sequel of ‘my mom is kinda homeless’ live,” wrote a user.
