In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Lawrence confirmed that her second child is a boy. The Oscar-winning actor and her husband, who already share a son named Cy, are now parents of two. Lawrence admitted that the postpartum period brought intense anxiety and self-doubt. “I just thought every time he was sleeping he was dead,” she shared. “I thought he cried because he didn’t like his life, or me, or his family.”

Lawrence confessed that she used to feel like she “was doing everything wrong” and that would “ruin” her children. She revealed that after giving birth to her second son, she constantly battled intrusive thoughts and was convinced she was not doing anything right. Lawrence recalled turning to ChatGPT for breastfeeding advice, which replied by calling her “a loving mother” and “doing the most amazing thing for your baby.”

Lawrence explained that she has often felt “driven by anxiety” and constantly worried about upsetting others. She also experienced postpartum anxiety after the birth of her first son, Cy, noting that while it was “worse” with her second child, she had already felt “at war” with the world following her first delivery.

Speaking to Vogue in 2022 after the birth of her first child, she described motherhood as life-altering. “I just stared,” she said at the time, recalling how she “was just so in love.” “I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing… My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about.”
