Following the recent Louvre Museum heist in Paris, White Collar’s Matt Bomer took to social media to say that he had “nothing to do” with the incident, recalling his role from White Collar. However, his former co-stars from the show had a different opinion.
Matt Bomer says he has ‘nothing to do’ with Louvre heist
Days after the news about the Louvre heist broke out, Matt Bomer jokingly uploaded a post on Threads. He captioned the post, saying, “I would like to state for the record that I had nothing to do with the Louvre.”
He later reposted this on Instagram, where his fans and former co-stars doubted his innocence and believed that he may, in fact, have had a hand in the situation.
This exchange is a callback for his character from White Collar. For the uninitiated, Bomer played Neal Caffrey, a renowned thief and con artist, in the popular cop drama. So, considering the niche skill of the character he portrayed, many believe that he is not innocent of the crime.

Tim DeKay played Peter Burke and co-led the show alongside Bomer. He responded to the post saying, “Yeah, we’ll see about that, Caffrey…” Later, Tiffani Thiessen, who played Elizabeth Burke, commented, “But are we to really believe that friend?”
However, in a surprising twist, Ross McCall, who played Matthew Keller, Caffrey’s nemesis, joked that he may have something to do with it. On Threads, he responded, “Maybe I did…,” while on Instagram, he commented, “But I might…”
McCall’s comment is particularly hilarious as it so happens that the actor was in the city around the time of the heist. He had posted several photos from his vacation with a caption, “She never disappoints.”
The Louvre Museum heist occurred on October 19, 2025, when four masked thieves disguised as construction workers stole eight priceless pieces of jewelry worth $102 million. The heist happened within around seven minutes despite the world-class security. Two suspects have now been arrested (via ABC News).
