Entertainment Weekly confirmed that 9-1-1: Nashville actress Isabelle Tate died from a rare neurological condition known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Tate, 23, passed away on October 19, and her representative shared the news with the outlet earlier this week.

Kim McCray, founder of The McCray Agency, stated via email, “Isabelle ‘Izzy’ Tate had a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease,” adding that she “passed away peacefully” and that the family “requests privacy as they deal with this sudden and shocking loss.”

McCray said the family asked people to donate to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association instead of sending flowers. The Mayo Clinic describes the disease as a group of inherited conditions that damage nerves in the arms and legs. In 2021, country singer Alan Jackson revealed his diagnosis with the same condition. It has since limited his ability to tour.

EW learned that 9-1-1: Nashville will pay tribute to Tate in an upcoming episode with a memorial title card. The actress appeared in the show’s pilot, which aired on October 9, marking her first television role. Her agency previously wrote on Instagram, “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19.” The message noted that Tate had “a wonderful time” filming the ABC drama and thanked the show’s casting team for their support.

An obituary described Tate as “full of fire, a fighter,” adding that she was “musically inclined” and loved spending time with friends and family. It further stated, “Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light.”
