Kim Kardashian is opening up about a serious health scare as her reality series enters a new chapter. While details emerged through the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians, the episode offered a closer look at Kim’s health revelation. Early footage shows the star linking her recent brain aneurysm diagnosis to stress from her divorce from Kanye “Ye” West.
Kim Kardashian blames Kanye West for brain aneurysm
Kim Kardashian revealed that doctors diagnosed her with a brain aneurysm, linking it to stress from her divorce from Kanye “Ye” West. The 45-year-old shared the news during the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, where cameras showed her undergoing an MRI scan before she told her sister, “There was a little aneurysm.” Kourtney Kardashian reacted in shock, saying, “Whoa!”
Kim said her doctors explained that “stress” caused the aneurysm. She added, “I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect,” referring to her four children with West — North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. The Mayo Clinic defines a brain aneurysm as “a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain.” It can rupture and cause a hemorrhagic stroke.
In the episode, Kim spoke emotionally about how the divorce affected her health. “I’m happy it’s over,” she said. “My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together.” She revealed that her psoriasis, which had cleared up after the split, recently returned, saying, “I haven’t had psoriasis since I got divorced, and it just started coming back.”
Kim also reflected on her relationship with West, saying she once felt she had “a little bit of Stockholm syndrome.” She said, “I always felt really bad and always protected [him] and always wanted to help [him].” Their marriage ended in 2021 after seven years, with the divorce finalized in November 2022.
The new season of The Kardashians airs on Thursdays on Hulu.
