She reportedly stated that she finds the media attention that comes with such high-profile events uncomfortable. The Met Gala is a major event that celebrates artists from around the world and provides them with a platform to showcase their art, culture, and creativity. It’s a star-studded event that draws significant attention every year. Recently, Aniston’s remark about the big fashion event sparked discussion, with fans speculating whether she would be banned from the Met Gala.
In an interview with Glamour, the “Friends” alum revealed why she has never attended the Met Gala event. She said, “I’m a jeans and flip-flops, and tank top kind of girl. I love dressing up too, but for me, it’s a mental game of…put on a fancy dress, makeup, get your hair all purdy and go sit in a big room with your peers.” She continued, “[And yes,] everyone’s there to celebrate each other and have some fun, but I get nervous.”
The “Bruce Almighty” actor further admitted that she gets a “little anxious” thinking about speaking publicly, because of the fear of “having your words twisted and taken out of context.” She added, “So I find myself almost hall monitoring myself in a weird way.”
The 56-year-old’s candid remark on the high-profile event could have displeased Wintour. As RadarOnline reported, Aniston’s remark might get her banned from the Met Gala.
One insider claimed, “Once you insult Anna, it can stick. She’s known for holding grudges. If Jennifer thought skipping the gala was her choice, it might not be anymore. Anna doesn’t forget – or forgive.”
However, other sources said that Wintour is “too savvy to make anything permanent.” They highlighted the fact that even the Kardashians were once banned from the event, but they are “staples” now.
