Britney Spears Says She Is No Longer Always Available for Her Sons Amid Memoir Controversy

Britney Spears’ sons got called out by their mother amid her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir drama. On October 16, the singer posted a lengthy tweet on X (formerly Twitter), responding to her former beau’s allegations.

She mentioned that her kids, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, have grown up seeing how their father treated her. Furthermore, she opened up about her sons’ limited visits and said, “I have pride too.” Hence, she would not always be available for them going forward.

Britney Spears speaks up in scathing tweet after memoir controversy

Britney Spears broke her silence through a scathing tweet amid her ex-husband’s memoir drama. In Kevin Federline’s “You Thought You Knew,” he reportedly mentioned that their sons once caught the singer holding a knife while watching them sleeping from the door. Although the book has not been released yet, the anecdotes have seemingly created a buzz. On Thursday, the pop star took to X to share her views.

The 43-year-old revealed her relationship dynamic with her kids — Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19. “The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,” she wrote. The “Toxic” hitmaker revealed that she has been “pleading” to have a “life” with her children, claiming that dealing with teenagers is “complex.”

The post further read that Spears felt “demoralized” and “begged” her boys to be with her. “Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own father for me,” she noted. Then, she mentioned that Jayden and Sean should take “responsibility” as well.

The mother of two complained that one of her kids has only met her for 45 minutes in five years. Moreover, the other has paid her only “4 visits in the past 5 years.” Stating that she also has “pride,” the soloist said, “From now on, I will let them know when I am available.”

Towards the end, Britney Spears clarified that she would always love her sons, urging people close to her not to believe the “tabloids.” She called herself an “intelligent woman” and stated that she is the only one who would get hurt due to the “white lies in that book,” referring to her ex-husband’s memoir.
