Seth Rogen recently talked about how he was banned from presenting the Emmy Awards in his latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Studio star discussed one incident when he was a presenter and went completely off script. Jimmy Kimmel humorously agreed and confirmed that he had banned Rogen from presenting the Emmys.
Seth Rogen believes he’s blacklisted from presenting Emmys after 2021 speech
Seth Rogen’s appearance became a highlight at the Emmys this year, but the actor does not expect to present the awards anytime soon after what happened the last time he took up the duties. He discussed this stint, which took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, in a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“I do have that theory,” Seth Rogen said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, “I presented there, I think it was, four years ago at this point, and I have not been invited back.”
Jimmy Kimmel responded by quoting Rogen directly on what he had said about the awards. “Let me start by saying there are way too many of us in this little room… What are we doing? They said this was outdoors. It’s not. They lied to us. We’re in a hermetically sealed tent right now. I would not have come to this. Why is there a roof?” Kimmel quoted Rogen.
Rogen replied, “It was true! They lied. They did lie. It said, ‘Outdoor event.’ And I had all intention of doing the dumb schtick that they had written for me, and then I showed up, and then I was like, ‘We’re in a tent. I can’t ignore this… Eugene Levy’s here! We’re gonna kill Eugene Levy? I don’t wanna do that.’”
This incident ended up making the producers angry. Jimmy Kimmel then told Rogen that he had indeed banned him from presenting. Rogen joked while comparing himself to Kimmel about how Emmy award organizers banned him.
At least, the story of Rogen getting banned entertained the fans to the fullest.
