Michael Douglas Panicking Over Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Brand New Life, Sources Say

A new report has shed some light on Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ dynamic following the latter’s work to reinvent her acting career. The report stated that Douglas, largely retired from acting, has been panicking at his wife’s newfound excitement at a rejuvenated career, which he had no place in. Zeta-Jones, who recently starred in Wednesday, has two acting gigs lined up for the future: The Gallerist and Kill Jackie.

Sources claim Michael Douglas is in pain seeing Catherine Zeta-Jones ‘excited over her career’

According to a new report, Michael Douglas is panicking over Catherine Zeta-Jones’ “brand new life,” which will not include him.

This report comes from RadarOnline. An insider told the outlet, “She’s got a lot on her plate right now and has no intention of giving up on her career or slowing down, far from it.”

The insider added that the Welsh actress had two projects lined up for the future and was “excited to be out schmoozing with people again.” They further noted that the 55-year-old was now “in a powerful position in Hollywood and bringing in the paychecks,” calling Douglas “the elephant in the room.”

The insider alleged that Douglas wasn’t involved in Zeta-Jones’ current career trajectory, a reality the acting veteran couldn’t cope with. “It’s difficult for him because he’s effectively sitting at home living the life of an old man,” they added.

The insider noted that although the Ant-Man actor wouldn’t expect Zeta-Jones to drop her job and be by his side, he was pained seeing his wife’s excitement about her career while he was stuck at home. Further, they purported that the 81-year-old thought he would have more “date nights” with the Wednesday star and a “chance to reconnect” with her after slowing down on his work. “But they are ships passing in the night,” the insider clarified.

The insider said that Douglas didn’t “resent” or “blame” Zeta-Jones for her current ambitions and wished for her happiness. They added that the former felt lonely at home and “bored out of his mind” ever since their children, Dylan and Carys Zeta, moved out.

This news comes shortly after the outlet reported that Douglas was furious with Zeta-Jones for what he perceived as her “flaunting their wealth.”
