Oprah Winfrey has no intention of settling her long-time feud with Howard Stern. Sources have claimed that the talk show icon is not on board with Stern’s recent efforts at reconciliation.
Sources reveal Oprah Winfrey’s reaction to Howard Stern’s comment
According to a recent report by Rob Shuter, Oprah Winfrey is not yet ready to make peace with Howard Stern. Insider sources close to the television icon revealed she has “no interest” in resolving the feud with Stern, saying that she still doesn’t trust him.
“Oprah remembers everything,” a friend close to Winfrey stated. “She knows who he was on-air, and she doesn’t buy the rebrand,” they further added.
Howard Stern recently discussed reconciling with Winfrey in his latest appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. When host Andy Cohen asked if there is still bad blood between Stern and Winfrey, the former clarified, “No, I love Oprah.”
At one point in the interview, Stern revealed that he would like to have a conversation with Winfrey. However, he soon stated, “Oprah wouldn’t sit down with me. I think Oprah feels, you know… Oprah doesn’t need it. You know what, I’m gonna advise Oprah, stay away from me.”
Howard Stern and Oprah Winfrey’s feud dates back to 2004, when the shock-jock urged his fans to lodge complaints about The Oprah Winfrey Show. This led to the Federal Communications Commission launching an investigation after receiving “more than a few complaints” about the show (via New York Post).
Years later, Stern criticized Winfrey once again in a November 2022 episode of his SiriusXM radio show. “It’s f—-ing mind-blowing when you follow her on Instagram,” he had slammed the former talk show host. “She knows how to be rich… She kind of likes to show it off, which is something I’m not comfortable with. I don’t think that people should show off their wealth,” Stern had asserted (via Mediaite).
Despite Stern’s recent attempt at burying the hatchet with Winfrey, the latter has made it clear that she will not be mending fences anytime soon.
