Kylie Jenner is reportedly upset with Kris Jenner for coming up with the controversial “jailhouse glam” concept for the latest Kylie Cosmetics campaign. The ad, which features Kylie walking down a prison hallway in handcuffs while wearing black leather lingerie, has sparked major backlash online.
Sources say Kylie Jenner is furious at Kris Jenner
According to #ShuterScoop, Kylie Jenner is not happy with her mother, Kris Jenner. Multiple insider sources have claimed that the recent promo for her brand, Kylie Cosmetics, was actually Kris’s idea. “She thought it would break the internet. Kris knows outrage drives engagement. She doesn’t care if it’s love or hate — attention equals sales,” they stated.
The campaign swiftly drew criticism from netizens who are labelling it as “tone deaf” and “offensive,” and accusing her of glamorizing incarceration. A source close to the makeup mogul reported, “Kris thought it was edgy and powerful. She didn’t see the backlash coming.” They have now revealed that Kylie is “shaken and embarrassed” by the incident. “She’s furious that Kris turned her brand into a meme,” the source shared.
However, Kris is now reportedly looking for ways to do damage control and turn the situation in their favor. “She’s already spinning it into a redemption arc,” one marketing exec revealed. “If there’s one rule in the Kardashian playbook, it’s this — even bad press can make you richer,” they stated.
Despite the backlash, many fans are excited for the new era of Kylie Cosmetics as teased by the ad clip. The new “King Kylie” comeback aims to revamp the brand after 10 years. In an Instagram post made on October 12, Kylie wrote, “this King Kylie Collection is truly for you!!! ? you’re the reason my biggest cosmetic dreams came true, and I wouldn’t be here.. 10 years later! without your support.”
Jenner has announced that the King Kylie Collection will launch on Saturday, October 18, at 12 PM PST.
