Justin Baldoni’s Former Agent Calls Out Blake Lively’s ‘Continued Extortion’ on Set — Report

Justin Baldoni’s former agent defended the filmmaker, calling the behavior of Blake Lively “extortion.” According to a recent report, Danny Greenberg mentioned the term in a deposition transcript. However, he clarified that he wasn’t referring to “criminal extortion.”

For those unversed, the “Gossip Girl” alum and the director’s legal battle took place after the release of their movie, “It Ends With Us,” last year. She accused her co-star of sexual harassment on the set.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle has reportedly received an update. PEOPLE revealed the 41-year-old’s former agent’s testimony, in which Danny Greenberg called the “A Simple Favor” star’s behavior “extortion.” In the deposition transcript obtained by the outlet, the agent’s description of the feud between the co-stars was mentioned.

Reportedly, Baldoni, with the help of Greenberg, sent the distributor, Sony, emails about Lively’s “continued extortion and effort to gain control of the film.” Later, the agent clarified the meaning behind the reference they had used.

“My use of the word extortion there was referencing just cumulative behavior that both the studio and [production company Wayfarer Studios] and Justin were having to manage,” Greenberg claimed.

Meanwhile, his testimony also hinted that the “Age of Adeline” actor allegedly made threats related to the movie’s premiere. Reportedly, he discussed the cast member’s behavior with Sony executive Ange Giannetti regarding the “premiere issue.”

Earlier, a report revealed Lively’s contract, which claimed that she would earn more if she bagged an Oscar. Aside from other benefits and bonuses, she would seemingly earn a whopping cut if she won a prestigious award for the movie.

The actors’ legal battle has been ongoing since December 2024, when she first filed the lawsuit. After the “Jane the Virgin” alum denied the allegations, he filed a $400 million countersuit.

The counterclaims were against his co-star, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane, for civil extortion and defamation. However, he lost the round at the time.
