Keaton’s demise sent shockwaves across the film industry, with many actors and celebrities sharing heartfelt tributes to the late icon. Before her demise, the Oscar winner was active on Instagram, sharing posts documenting her professional and personal lives. At the time of her death, Keaton established an enduring acting legacy spanning multiple films across numerous genres.

Diane Keaton’s last Instagram post was shared on April 11, 2025, six months before her death. The post, a collaboration with shopping and retail company Hudson Grace, included snaps of the Godfather actress and her dog, Reggie. The Annie Hall star adopted the Golden Retriever in 2020 and confirmed the adoption via an Instagram video showing Reggie jumping and running around her backyard.

In the first photo, Keaton could be seen sitting next to her dog and pointing at dog food with her surname inscribed on it, and a black dog statue. Meanwhile, the second photo showed the dog lying on a black-and-white checkered cushion. Further, the third photo showed the dog pressing its nose against the black statue, while Keaton’s hand could be seen grabbing its fur. Finally, the last photo depicted part of the dog’s body on the cushion, which had Keaton and Hudson Grace’s initials stitched to it.

“Proof our pets have great taste too!” Keaton captioned the post. “Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton.” The post garnered 79.6k likes.

Although the post was shared months ago, fans and celebrities filled the comments section with statements and remarks addressing Keaton’s demise and her impact on everyone’s lives.

Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez commented with two red hearts, four white hearts, and a bird emoji, signifying the late actress’s presence in the afterlife. Meanwhile, Superman & Lois star Elizabeth Tulloch commended Keaton’s talent and animal advocacy. She wrote, “A true legend. Thank you for your talent, your animal advocacy, your immeasurable charm. You will be missed.”

“A true original. Intelligent, talented, beautiful,” a fan commented. Another added, “RIP Diane. What a legend.”
