Charlotte Church describes her experience with Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
The “Men of Harlech” crooner detailed the Wrexham A.F.C. owners’ charm and chivalry in a recent interview. She revealed how they flew her and her children down to New York.
Charlotte Church explained on the Dish podcast how Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, or simply Rob Mac, were absolutely keen on having her on their docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham. They even agreed to fly her family to New York.
The Welsh singer revealed, “He [Reynolds] flew me and my kids out to New York because they were doing the show about Wrexham, and I went, and I sang the national anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.”
Church further revealed how her children were enthusiastic about the possibility of meeting the Deadpool star. She said, “The kids were like, ‘It’s Ryan Reynolds; we have to go.’ So I was like, ‘I’m a working mum; unfortunately, you’re going to have to bring all three of my children out.’” However, both actors sweetly agreed to accommodate The Masked Singer alumna’s request.
Furthermore, Charlotte Church raved about Reynolds and Mac and praised their initiative for the Welsh community. “They got to meet him and Rob McElhenney, and they were delicious. They were so kind, and they’re so lovely. I think what they’re doing for Wales – in terms of Wrexham and stuff – it’s really genuine,” she remarked.
“Unfortunately, the way that Wales has been portrayed for such a long time is like we’re the poor relation, and a lot of people talk about us by taking the p***, but actually, it feels really uplifting. They’re doing it with a lot of care and integrity, I think,” Church added.
