Dolly Parton Is ‘Definitely Not Herself’ Amid Health Scares, Sources Say

Country music legend Dolly Parton has reassured fans that she is okay, but she is reportedly navigating health issues. While the 79-year-old remains active, those close to her say her energy and mood have been noticeably affected following a personal loss.

Sources say Dolly Parton is putting on a brave face

Dolly Parton spoke directly to fans in a recent video from a Grand Ole Opry shoot, making it clear she’s not in danger. “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!” she said, laughing. She thanked fans for their concern but insisted she’s staying active and engaged in her projects.

Even with her upbeat front, Parton admitted she’s been handling lingering health issues. The passing of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier this year has taken a toll. “When Carl was very sick and then after he passed, I didn’t take care of myself,” she shared. “The doctor said, we need to take care of this. Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home.”

Now, according to Shutter Scoop, close friends and family note that Parton’s energy has dipped, and she isn’t quite her usual self. “She’s definitely not herself. She’s grieving Carl’s passing, and her energy’s been low for months,” a longtime friend said. While she isn’t bedridden, outlet insiders confirm that her sparkle now comes with visible moments of vulnerability.

However, Dolly Parton has made sure she gives her own health update for concerned fans. “There’s a lot of rumours flying around, and I figured if you heard it from me, you’d know that I’m ok.” Even made fun of a viral AI-generated photo falsely showing her on a deathbed with Reba McEntire. “If I was really dying, I don’t think Reba would be the one at my deathbed,” she joked.

Dolly Parton is yet to respond to these rumors.
