Fortnite‘s latest announcement about its largest-ever cast of Halloween crossover had a messy start due to a social media debacle involving Doja Cat and a mention of an adult toy. This year’s Fortnitemares celebrations include Wednesday Addams, Jason Voorhees, Scooby-Doo, Art the Clown, and Ghostface, among many others.

Doja Cat clashes with Fortnite amid skin collaboration
Doja Cat is a self-proclaimed Fortnite fan, and she popped up on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to announce her in-game alter ego Mother of Thorns, a boss character during the event.
To promote this event, Fortnite hosted a brief Doja Cat “takeover” of its X account ahead of the trailer release. But this idea turned messy when the musician referenced “rose toys,” a vibrating adult toy from Fortnite’s account. The post from Fortnite’s account read, “Mother of rose toys” (via IGN).
Doja Cat soon broke the fourth wall by appearing from her own X account. She commented, “I told them not to man, that’s not even me. I said this yesterday and then said, ‘don’t post that’ :/” She added in a second comment, “sh*t cringe as f**k now I am embarrassed.”
Fortnite soon deleted the tweet. Doja Cat also deleted her comments. Many who witnessed the incident remarked that the whole thing was pre-planned. While it does seem unlikely that Fortnite would willingly post a reference to an adult toy, given that it has many young followers on X, this incident remains shrouded in sufficient mystery.
Doja Cat’s skin will be there in the video game, alongside many others like Wednesday Addams, Scooby-Doo, Ghost Face, etc.
