It is no secret that Angelina Jolie has been toying with the idea of moving out of the USA for a while now, and a recent question during a press conference only reinforced the idea that the veteran actress is indeed considering it. Sources further confirmed that Jolie is now ready to move on to her next chapter after the long-drawn divorce with Brad Pitt concluded last year.
Sources say Angelina Jolie is ready to move out of US
During a press conference for her new movie, Couture, at the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain, Angelina Jolie was asked how she felt as an artist staying in the USA. Jolie responded, “It is a very difficult question,” after a substantial pause. She added, “I love my country, but at this time, I don’t recognize my country.”
The actress had previously expressed her desire to leave after her children turned at least 18. She shares five children with Brad Pitt, the youngest twins being 17 right now. A source further confirmed to US Weekly that Jolie’s plans to move abroad are very much on the cards, and she has an array of options to choose from as well.
“You can really feel a shift in Angelina recently; she’s lighter and more at ease,” a source said. “She’ll always love L.A., but she feels it has served its purpose. She’s ready for her next chapter.” The source added, “She’s very excited for this next phase of her life.”
With her humanitarian work, Jolie has strong ties to many countries abroad. A second source confirmed that Jolie could stay in Cambodia, where she owns property, France, or Africa. “They’re all very special places,” the second source added.
As of now, Jolie is working on Anxious People for Netflix. She is in London. While she plans to continue coming back for work, she does not plan on calling Los Angeles her home anymore. The second source explained, “Angelina will be back and forth to L.A. for work but won’t call L.A. her home.” She also reportedly plans to list her $24.5 million Los Feliz mansion next September.
Jolie will also focus more on her humanitarian work going forward. The second source added about this, “She plans on giving back to communities in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Africa, and she’s open to exploring more of the world and raising awareness and continuing her work with the U.N….She’s looking forward to being around like-minded people.”
But the sources also confirmed that Jolie will continue to support and care for her children, as they will be the priority. All her children are going in different directions at the moment and are reportedly estranged from Brad Pitt.
So, fans can expect to soon hear about Angelina Jolie moving on to a new path in her life.
