Jennifer Aniston has always been vocal about her wish to have kids and start a family. However, the false narrative that she cannot have a family has taken a toll on her over the years. However, in a recent interview, the actress responded to those false claims, stating that no one should discuss her life without being aware of her personal struggles.
Jennifer Aniston is done with the narrative about how she won’t have a family
Over the years, many tabloids have presented their own versions of stories about why Jennifer Aniston is not having children. Some even claimed that she is prioritising her career over having children. While initially the “Friends” alum would often ignore the false narratives, there came a time when she could no longer stand it.
During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the actress opened up about the made-up stories, saying that they were hurtful. Aniston revealed that, amid all that, she was privately undergoing IVF treatment for the last two decades. “They didn’t know my story, or what I’d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don’t go out there and tell them my medical woes,” she expressed.
The “Murder Mystery” actress even added that her personal life is “not anybody’s business.” Despite this, when false stories get out, it becomes hurtful. Although she did not entertain any of the narratives for a long time, almost a decade ago, she had had enough.
According to her, “there comes a point when you can’t not hear it – the narrative about how I won’t have a baby, won’t have a family, because I’m selfish, a workaholic.” The 56-year-old further added that the false narrative did “affect” her after all, she is “just a human being. We’re all human beings. That’s why I thought, ‘What the hell?'”
Hollywood’s beloved star took the stand because she “knew a lot of women at the time who were trying to have kids, who were dealing with IVF. So it did feel like it was not only for myself, but for any women who were struggling with the same issue.”
