With the Kansas City Chiefs suffering their third loss of the season in their recent matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, their star tight end, Travis Kelce, has come out to share his thoughts on the same. In a recent discussion, the three-time Super Bowl champion commented on his side’s abysmal performance against the Jaguars, even dropping several F-bombs to express his disappointment.
Travis Kelce discusses Chiefs’ loss against Jaguars
On the Wednesday, October 8 episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce opened up about the Chiefs’ struggles this season, specifically highlighting the errors they committed in their recent 31-28 defeat vs the Jaguars.
Talking about how they lost their latest NFL fixture despite securing a healthy lead in the first half of the game, Travis Kelce stated, “We go up 14 points, we can’t let them get back into it. 14 point lead, and on top of that, 14 f—–g penalties.”
His elder brother, Jason Kelce, who spent his entire NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring in 2024, then noted that even though the game was “sloppy on both sides,” it was “uncharacteristically” sloppy for the Chiefs. Nevertheless, he did praise the Chiefs for finally finding their footing in the attack, stating that their offense is “clicking right now” on the field.
In response, Travis Kelce noted that he had recently learned of a statistic stating the Chiefs out-ran their opponents by 157 yards, making it all the more “frustrating to lose a game after that.”
Despite his qualms against his own team, the 36-year-old NFL veteran did not forget to congratulate Jacksonville for their win. “Hats off to the Jags, they finished the game, and we didn’t, and they played a cleaner game than we did,” he said. Kelce added that the Chiefs are now “moving on” from the “debauchery that f—–g happened” on Monday, before concluding his account by saying, “We’ve gotta be better, man.”
Having lost three out of their five NFL outings this season, the Kansas City Chiefs would be looking to return to winning form against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.
