Matthew McConaughey shares his past struggles with this outfit

In a YouTube lookbook video with Esquire UK, Matthew McConaughey takes a look back at some of the most iconic outfits from movies that shaped his career. The actor got candid about his outfit inspirations, funny anecdotes, and life lessons he has learned along the way.

McConaughey explained that each outfit, carefully designed to reflect the character’s personality, came with a story of its own. From Dazed and Confused to his latest release, The Lost Bus, the actor deconstructs the thought process behind each iconic look.

Speaking of The Lost Bus, McConaughey expressed how comfortable he felt wearing his outfit for the movie’s premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. The picture in question shows the actor rocking a charcoal grey Louis Vuitton double-breasted suit. Sharing his past experiences of feeling underconfident in double-breasted suits, the actor expressed how they were always ill-fitting.

McConaughey further revealed that most suits that look sharp on the red carpet are actually overly fitted. They’re usually so tight that the celebrities can’t even move or sit without the risk of ripping their outfits.

Appreciating the fit of the Louis Vuitton suit, McConaughey expressed that he felt comfortable wearing it because it was not overly mansized everywhere.

The actor added that the pants had a little flare at the bottom, which gave the look an elongating effect. The video ended with McConaughey reiterating that he loved wearing the Louis Vuitton suit. It is the first one he’s been able to pull off since Mark Hanna and The Wolf of Wall Street.
