Kathryn Dennis sentenced to 30 days in jail for driving under influence
On Monday, May 20, 2024, Kathryn Dennis caused a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of US Highway 52 and Stephanie Drive in the Goose Creek area. When the authorities arrived, bystanders and witnesses informed them that Dennis smelled strongly of alcohol and appeared severely impaired.
The responding officer also noted she had “glossy eyes” (via Count On 2 News). The police found an unopened mini Fireball bottle on the driver’s side floorboard and an empty pink tumbler. The responding officer also confirmed smelling alcohol on Dennis. She initially denied drinking or taking any medications.
After this, she consented to field sobriety tests, and the officers noted several indicators that she was impaired. She later admitted to having consumed alcohol earlier but refused to take medical tests or treatment.
She was ultimately given a $1,475 bond.
This Friday, the court sentenced her to 30 days in the Berkeley County jail. There has been no official statement from the star’s side yet.
Before this incident, she was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run case that generated major controversy. During the sixth season of Southern Charm, where she remained for most of her career, she admitted that she was drunk frequently. Her past controversies may have also influenced the outcome of this conviction.
With Kathryn Dennis jailed for the next 30 days, her fans can expect a statement from the reality TV star or her team soon. Stay tuned.
