Eric Dane revealed to the world that he was suffering from ALS, and his Grey’s Anatomy co-stars were the ones who were very vocal about their support for the actor. E! News reported how he missed the Emmy Awards 2025 due to his disease. Entertainment Tonight spoke to several Grey’s Anatomy stars who expressed their support for Dane amidst this difficult news.
“Well, that’s just who Eric is. I reached out to him via text uh to tell him that tell him that, you know, we’re praying for him and that he’s not alone in this battle. He got back with me, and he called me Pick. He said, ‘Pick, I love you.'” James Pickens Jr said, “And I, it’s close to me as well because my longtime agent of over 35 years passed away from ALS…almost two years ago now. And I was actually with him when he disclosed his diagnosis. So it it’s it holds a very special part for me.”
Kevin McKidd spoke next about Dane, and said, “I mean I’m really he his bravery is impressive. You know I’m not sure how I would deal with it honestly. I probably just you know lock myself away. I’m quite a private person. So, I’m really impressed uh by how he’s dealing with it and kind of shining a light on ALS and I just wish him all the best.”
“You know, people make choices to do things in their own way. And the, you know, um, once you’re no longer on the show physically, you’re still there, right? Because that’s just the way our show works,” Chandra Wilson said, “So, bless his heart and for having that grace um, to be able to let people into his journey.”
