In the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Frankie Focus, New York State’s new mascot, who promoted smartphone restrictions in the classroom, whom he described as “neon Chewbacca with glasses on” and “giant fluorescent monster” on stage.
Things took a hilarious turn when Frankie started ragging on Kimmel. He said he could tell the comedian didn’t get a college degree and asked the audience if they thought the comedian was dumb.
An annoyed Kimmel said he wasn’t going to let “a hot green sewer Labubu” insult him. Frankie countered, saying he wouldn’t let “a guy who looks like they dragged Jimmy Fallon out of the Gowanus Canal” insult him either.
A suspicious Kimmel took off the mask, revealing Matt Damon, who shouted, “I made it on the show!” as the audience cheered. Kimmel told audiences to stop cheering and asked him why he wore the Frankie costume, wondering if it was a “sex thing.”
“Look, I wore this costume because it’s the last chance to get on the show,” Damon responded. “I know we’ve had our differences over the years, but I just, I wanted to be here tonight for your last show ever. I just want to say goodbye.”
Kimmel said it wasn’t his last show. “But the president cancelled you,” The Martian actor replied. Damon joked that he was a fan of Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension. “I mean, when he said you had like zero ratings and no talent, I was like, I’ve been saying that for years,” he added.
Jimmy Kimmel reminded Matt Damon he was only off air for three nights. In response, the latter asked, “Are you serious? Is there, like, some kind of appeals process? F**k! This sucks!”
Kimmel then told the Oscar winner to leave, saying he had “real movie stars to talk to.” The former asked the latter if he had heard of Tom Hanks. “Have I heard of Tom Hanks? I’m Private Ryan, dips***, Tom Hanks saved me,” Damon responded. “And America will never forgive him for that,” Kimmel countered.
Damon left, but not before taking Kimmel’s mother, Joan, with him. He said he lied about the costume from the aisle, jokingly adding, “It is a sex thing.”
