Travis Kelce’s Ex Tayla Nicole Seemingly Responds to Taylor Swift’s Possible Diss

Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, is once again making headlines following the release of Taylor Swift’s latest album. The attention centers on fans’ speculation that one of the new songs contains veiled references to Nicole’s past relationship with the NFL star and her subtle reaction on social media.

Kayla Nicole might have responded to Taylor Swift’s alleged diss

Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, appeared to respond to Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which fans believe includes a reference to her.

Shortly after the album’s release on October 3, Nicole posted an America’s Next Top Model clip to her Instagram Story featuring Eva Marcille saying, “I don’t compare myself to other girls.” The post followed fan speculation that Swift’s track “Opalite” contains lyrics directed at Nicole, who previously dated Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, for nearly five years.

In “Opalite,” Swift sings, “You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose.” Listeners linked the lyrics to Kelce’s past relationship with Nicole, noting the song’s theme of moving on from failed romances before finding love. Neither Swift nor Nicole has publicly confirmed any connection between the track and their personal histories.

Nicole and Kelce began dating in 2017 and ended their relationship in 2022. Following Swift’s emergence with Kelce in 2023, Nicole faced renewed online attention after unfollowing the athlete’s teammate, Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany Mahomes. Speaking to People later that year, Nicole clarified, “That’s a lot of history and friendship there… but publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself.”

After Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025, Nicole declined to comment to the Daily Mail, instead telling People that the most important lesson she learned in 2025 was that “the opinions of others are only as big as you make them.” She added, “If I don’t allow it to affect me, it simply won’t.”

The Life of a Showgirl is available to stream now.
