John Cena will have his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Monumental Sports released details about Cena’s final match.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H praised Cena’s career, “John’s contributions to WWE are immeasurable. There are no words that can truly relay how much he means to this business. Together with our partners at Events DC and Capital One Arena. We look forward to honoring his legacy and delivering an unforgettable send-off for both John and the WWE Universe.”

Angie M. Gates, President and CEO of Events DC, said, “Washington, D.C. is the Sports Capital and the perfect place to honor John Cena’s remarkable legacy. We are excited to welcome WWE fans from our city and around the globe to witness an unforgettable final showdown in our nation’s capital. We deeply value our partnership with WWE and look forward to providing fans with an experience they will cherish forever.”

Jordan Silberman, President of Venues at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said, “It is our great privilege to host John Cena’s historic final match at Capital One Arena, a staple venue that has consistently witnessed dozens of marquee WWE events over the years. There’s no stage more fitting to celebrate the legacy of a true entertainment icon than our building, with a backdrop anchored in the heart of Downtown D.C.”

Tickets for Cena’s final match go on sale Friday, October 17, at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT, with an exclusive presale starting Wednesday, October 15, at the same time on Ticketmaster.com.

Cena was last seen at WWE WrestlePalooza on September 20, 2025, a key event marking WWE’s new partnership with ESPN and the first-ever premium live event under the deal. The show featured a high-profile match between Cena and Brock Lesnar.

The match, however, did not go in Cena’s favor. Lesnar took control, hitting multiple F5s, echoing their SummerSlam 2014 clash where Cena had took several German suplexes. After the loss, fans hoped for a rematch, but WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H announced that Cena will face AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia.
