Kayla Nicole gets candid about her insecurity

Nicole took to Instagram to share a clip from The Pre-Game podcast, where she spoke about her imposter syndrome. Sharing her experience at New York Fashion Week, she said, “I found myself in my hotel room feeling wildly insecure, speaking so negatively to myself about myself, feeling like I didn’t belong there.”

She explained, “Dealing with my typical case of imposter syndrome that will creep up every so often, the parts of me that I’m sometimes most ashamed of or most afraid to share with others, sometimes I’m most afraid that people are going to see through. Like, they’re going to see through this whole, I’m confident thing and know that at my core, at my heart, sometimes, I am insecure. I am healing.”

Before going to the event, she had this feeling of insecurity. She constantly asked herself what questions she would face and how her answers would be publicized. These negative thoughts were constantly holding her down, but despite them, she chose to step out and lead with confidence. She added, “But I think something that’s very relatable just as a woman or a human being walking this earth is that sometimes we feel like we’re not meant to be in the rooms that we’re invited in. But I want for this week the game plan for your life, for my life to understand that God has a plan for your life.”

She told everyone struggling with imposter syndrome, “If you are in that room, you are absolutely supposed to be there.” She explained that not owning up to your flaws and letting insecurities hold you back is a “disservice” to yourself. Therefore, this week she has dedicated to encouraging people to keep their heads held high. This episode is her contribution to hyping up everyone who struggles with insecurities.
