Jennifer Lopez says the divorce helped her grow in a way she needed to grow
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce was finalized at the beginning of this year. They reportedly filed for divorce in August last year, two months before the filming of “Kiss of the Spider Woman” was wrapped. While speaking to Lee Cowan on “CBS Sunday Morning,” the actor opened up about the difficult times.
She claimed that it was “tough” dealing with heartbreak while shooting her musical, but her work helped her to find happiness. “It was the best and the worst of times,” J.Lo said. She claimed that she was “happy” on the set, but it was “not great” when she returned home. Still, she got through it and stated that the separation was “the best thing that ever happened” to her.
Furthermore, she gave a reason, saying, “Because it changed me.” Correcting the explanation, the “Marry Me” star clarified that it did not change her. However, it helped her “grow in a way” that she “needed to grow.” She became more “self-aware” and a “different person” compared to last year.
After revealing that she’s in a “happy place” now, Lopez also talked about her upcoming musical, “Kiss of the Spider Woman.” Affleck is the executive producer of the film, which will be released on October 10, 2025.
Earlier, a report stated that the interaction between the ex-married couple has allegedly turned icy. A source claimed that the “On the Floor” hitmaker has become frustrated because of her ex-husband’s lack of communication skills.
