Springfield shared an Instagram photo with Van Dyke, showing them posing together at the gym. Dyke, seated on a gym chair with his stick, playfully raised a fist, while Springfield sat nearby, matching the gesture. His caption read, “Filming an episode of Men’s Health, and I went to the gym and who should be there but 99-year-old Dick Van Dyke working out on every machine. Dick has lived in Malibu for about 30 years and is an awesome human being.”

Appreciating Dyke’s fitness regime, he then wrote, “I thought I was doing well at 76, but Dick got up from the chest press machine and did a little dance step before I left! Amazing!” Fans took to the comment section to share reactions to his latest post. A fan wrote, “He is so amazing. What a great photo.” A second user mentioned, “Rad. Thanks for posting. I love this stuff. You two both look great. I was a fireman for almost 40 years and now run my local YMCA gym. I was a trainer also for 40 years. And I love seeing people like you two in me gym.”

“Two living legends showing us what true strength looks like. Proof that passion, health, and joy keep you timeless. Truly inspiring!,” a third user wrote. Another one wrote, “Love that man. God bless him.”

In a conversation, Dyke shared details on his gym routine. He said, “‘I’ve always exercised.’ Three days a week, we go to the gym, still.” Explaining how his routine sets him apart from people similar to his age, he added, “I think that’s why I’m not stove up like my equals.” He further revealed, “If I got there early enough, I would see you literally work out on some weight machine, and then – almost like you were doing circuit training – you would not walk to the next machine but dance” (via HELLO!).
