Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs’ Losing Streak Comes to End Against Giants

Having started the 2024-25 NFL campaign on a somber note, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs finally breathed a sigh of relief last Sunday by winning their first game of the season. Coach Andy Reid’s men defeated the New York Giants in the third matchweek of the ongoing season, ending their two-match losing streak in the process.

On the night of September 21, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the New York Giants in their third NFL outing of the season.

Having already tasted defeat in their opening two games against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs had a lot riding on their match-up against the Giants. However, Kelce’s side managed to keep their calm in the said fixture, running out 22-9 victors to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

Both the Chiefs and the Giants started the game on the back foot, failing to capitalize on each other’s mistakes. By the second quarter, neither side was able to break the deadlock with the score locked at 6-6. However, Patrick Mahomes’ brilliance ultimately shifted the tide in the Chiefs’ favor by securing three more points for his side before halftime via a 52-yard pass interference penalty, as per Yahoo Sports.

Mahomes once again led the charge in the second half, initiating an 11-play, 74-yard drive before supplying Tyquan Thornton with a five-yard touchdown pass. The duo connected for a second time in the fourth quarter to set up Kareem Hunt on a touchdown run.

Consequently, the veteran quarterback capped off yet another masterful performance, recording 22 of 37 passes for 224 yards, along with a touchdown.

While Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs may have avoided three defeats on the trot, the New York Giants failed to secure a similar fate. As such, the NFC East side team now sits with zero points, having lost all three of their NFL games in the season.
