Angelina Jolie Pulls off Simplistic Elegance in Black Velvet Gown in SSIFF Photos

Angelina Jolie recently turned heads at the “Couture” photocall during the 73rd San Sebastian International Film Festival. On September 21, she graced the red carpet in a beautiful black dress. The 50-year-old was all smiles as she waved to the crowd and posed for the cameras. She presented her latest French movie, which previously premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), at the event.

Angelina Jolie looked ethereal in a stunning black evening gown at the 2025 San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF). The event took place on Sunday at the Kursaal Palace in San Sebastian, Spain. The Hollywood bombshell walked the red carpet in a floor-length velvet outfit that consisted of a deep V-neck and spaghetti straps.

With a fall-down pattern, the dress’s fit around the waist highlighted the humanitarian’s beautiful posture elegantly. She didn’t go heavy on accessories as Jolie wore dazzling earrings and a ring. With matte makeup, the “Maleficent” star slayed bright red nail color.

On the red carpet, Jolie smiled, posed for the shutterbugs, and waved to the crowd. According to the Daily Mail, the diva also donned a velvet blazer over the dress. She was photographed wearing it later during the press conference. The actress was also seen taking shelter under an umbrella as it poured outside.

Meanwhile, this was not her first event where her French film, “Couture,” was shown. It also premiered at TIFF 2025. There, Jolie picked the same color for the red carpet. However, the outfit was different. She transformed a long trench coat into a dress and confidently posed for the cameras.

Directed by Alice Winocour, the new film also stars Ella Rumpf, Anyier Anei, and Louise Garrel, alongside Jolie. The latter plays the role of a director named Maxine Walker, who generally makes low-budget horror movies. Her career takes a different turn when she gets an offer to direct a film for a French fashion house’s Paris Fashion Week Show.
