Angelina Jolie Blends Business With Fun in Trench Coat Dress at TIFF

Angelina Jolie’s new photos from the “Couture” premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) have turned heads. It’s no secret that the Hollywood bombshell can make a simple jacket look chic and elegant. On September 7, the 50-year-old graced the red carpet in a double-breasted trench coat, repurposing it as a dress with a thigh-high slit.

Angelina Jolie’s leggy display in a trench coat dress at the TIFF has gained the internet’s attention. She looked ethereal in a brown wool coat in the photos from the premiere of “Couture.” According to Vogue, she wore Gabriela Hearst’s creation on the red carpet. What made her look all the more interesting was that she repurposed the trench coat as a dress.

Jolie posed for the cameras wearing only the ankle-grazing coat, flaunting her long legs. With four buttons holding the fit together, the overcoat fell open from the waist down. Posing with one leg poking out, she gave the ensemble a thigh-high slit look. With hands in pockets and putting on a leggy display, the “Maleficent” star completed her fit with pointed-toe pumps and stud earrings. She let her newly dyed blonde hair loose for the event.

According to InStyle, Jolie’s recent pose at TIFF was reminiscent of the 2012 Oscars. She wore a black strapless Versace gown with a bold thigh-high slit. The actor was photographed in a similar pose 13 years ago, posing with one leg peeking out from the dress.

Meanwhile, Jolie didn’t arrive in Toronto to only attend the event. She has been busy promoting her new movie, “Couture.” Directed by Alice Winocour, the film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, getting a positive response overall.

The actor plays the role of Maxine Walker, a director who usually works on low-budget horror movies. However, things take a turn when a French fashion house commissions her to direct a movie for their upcoming Paris Fashion Week show.

In an interview with Variety, the Oscar-winner revealed that her recent project felt like a “personal film.” “It felt so private that in my mind, it’s probably the one film that doesn’t feel like a film,” she added.
