Donald Trump’s Original UK Speech Said Prince Harry & Meghan Markle ‘Trashed Monarchy,’ Says Source

Donald Trump‘s leaked speech from the State Banquet during his visit to the United Kingdom was riddled with alleged digs at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Last week, the President of the United States made his second-ever official state visit and delivered a toast at the dinner in Windsor Castle for all guests. However, a source claimed that Trump aimed to portray the Sussexes as “opportunists” and the people who “trashed the monarchy” in the original speech.

Rob Shuter #ShuterScoop learned about Donald Trump’s intentions to throw jabs at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with his State Banquet speech. He allegedly wanted the toast to be direct hits at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who currently live in the United States, after stepping down from their duties as senior royals in 2020. However, the president settled for a more polished version instead.

A source claimed that Trump wanted to make direct hits at Harry and Markle, as the first draft of his speech surfaced. He had reportedly aimed at portraying the Sussexes as “opportunists,” with one political aide describing his words as “brutal.” They further opined that it would have become a hot topic of discussion across the world for weeks if the politician actually spoke his words out loud.

However, advisors counseled Trump against giving the speech with scathing remarks about Harry and Markle. They reportedly warned him about the veiled attacks overshadowing the State Banquet. Instead, an insider alleged that they focused on freezing Harry and Markle “out of the spotlight,” claiming that “it worked.”

Shuter shared the leaked passages from Trump‘s original remarks, which read that those who “marry into this family should respect its traditions, not profit from attacking it,” regarding the duchess. The politician then added a comment about her selling stories rather than serving with honor.

Moreover, the first draft of the president’s speech allegedly pointed fingers at the couple for trashing the monarchy, with an added jab about their Netflix deal. The passage reportedly read, “Tonight, we remind them loyalty and respect are what matter — not Netflix deals and gossip.”
