Catwoman Series Rumor Will Excite Fans of Zoë Kravitz

A new report has sparked speculation about a Catwoman series set between The Batman Part 2 and a possible third film. The project would focus on Selina Kyle’s story during the timeline between Matt Reeves’ sequels, though no official confirmation exists.

Rumor suggests a Catwoman series will happen between The Batman 2 and 3

On The Hot Mic podcast, industry reporter Jeff Sneider said, “I’m told that there’s going to be a Catwoman series, you know, basically between Batman 2 and 3 if there’s a third Batman movie.” He continued, “But that was like always sort of the plan.”

The speculation links to the ending of The Penguin, where Sofia Falcone receives a letter from Selina Kyle. The moment hints at a possible future storyline for the character.

The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc explained the significance of the letter in the finale, telling TheWrap, “When she receives the letter from Selina Kyle — you know the fact that her entire arc in our show has been so much about how she doesn’t feel a connection to her family, and how her family has betrayed her, and she has no one, and she feels all alone — at the end, we realize that she isn’t completely alone.”

LeFranc continued, “She actually does have family out there that she didn’t know about, and maybe there could be some hope for a future connection.”

However, HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys last year clarified that no Catwoman project was in development. Speaking to TVLine, Bloys said, “We’ve been talking mostly about: Is there another story with The Penguin? I have to let him get that movie set up and moving. But [Matt and Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc] work really well together, so hopefully they’ll find something that they think is exciting.”

Recently, Matt Reeves also revealed new details about The Batman Part 2. He confirmed the sequel’s villain will directly connect to Bruce Wayne’s history. Reeves explained, “Picking the right villain that digs into what that does, that sort of goes into his past and his life. That was what drove that discussion. I won’t tell you where we ended up, but we’re super excited about it, and I will say it’s never really been done in a movie before.”

He said the sequel expands Bruce Wayne’s story beyond Batman and confirmed Sofia Falcone will not return.
