Lucy Liu is one of the additions to the cast of the highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2. In a recent interview, she opened up about her experience while working on the movie. The original 2006 movie is highly popular among comedy-drama enthusiasts, so Liu’s addition to the sequel has her fans excited. Lucy Liu ‘had a great time’ working on The Devil Wears Prada 2
Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are confirmed to reprise their roles in the sequel. Additionally, Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, and Justin Theroux have joined The Devil Wears Prada 2.
During the Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program, Liu spoke to People about her experience on the movie’s sets. “I had a great time and it was really fun, and it’s always nice to be part of something that people are excited about and that is connected to fashion,” she shared her excitement.
The Charlie’s Angels star continued, “Fashion can be so many things — it can be political, and it can be whimsical.” She concluded by saying, “That, to me, is what’s fun about a movie like that, that’s more classic than you would think.”
David Frankel, who directed the first movie, has also returned for the sequel. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will adapt Lauren Weisberger’s second book in the series, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.
As per Variety, “The next chapter reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is heading for a May 1, 2026, theatrical release, twenty years after the original.
