As the first season of Alien: Earth nears its conclusion, rumors about the possibility of there being a Season 2 that have been circulating online have intensified. Speculation escalated further when a popular scooper hinted on X (formerly Twitter) that the series could be returning. Although no official announcement has been made, the hint has stirred excitement among fans.
Alien: Earth Season 2 said to be a done deal
Anticipation is building around the possibility of Alien: Earth getting a Season 2. This comes after a recent post by well-known scooper MyTimeToShineHello on X hinted at a major development. On September 18, 2025, their post read, “Looks like season 2 is happening,” suggesting that the series is moving forward with a follow-up installment. However, there has been no official word from producers on this yet.
This comes after the show’s creator, Noah Hawley, fueled speculations about a second season with his comments. When asked in an interview whether he had ideas for the story extending beyond the first season, Hawley replied, “I do. I do.” He added, “I mean, I think that I have a destination in mind story-wise, which allows me to know what the story is I’m telling, what it means.” He added that the challenge lies in streamlining the process so that fans are not left waiting years.
Previously, FX executive John Landgraf had also fueled rumors around the possibility of a second season. He told Variety in 2024 that the network intends for Hawley to focus on Alien: Earth before returning to his work on Fargo. Landgraf said, “We’re pretty bullish on Alien: Earth, and we’ve told him that assuming, as we hope, Alien: Earth is a returning television series, we want him to focus on at least writing two seasons of it before returning to a possible sixth season of Fargo.”
