Sharing behind the scenes on Instagram, the actress wrote, “When my son said I looked just like our disco ball, I beamed with delight. He knows how much I love a sparkle.”
She paired the shimmering dress with muted glam, including a mauve lip and chain-like earrings. She wore her hair straight and parted down the middle, which let her natural features shine. A small chain purse tied the whole look together. Her stylist, Karla Welch, makeup artist, Sarah Uslan, and hairstylist, Bridget Brager, worked as a team to craft the understated yet powerful vibe.
Monaghan later explained her fashion choice. “I wanted to find a dress that met me in this moment,” she told WWD. At 49, the actress is enjoying critical acclaim for her role in The White Lotus. Welch shared why the Rabanne gown felt right. “Michelle and I’s first Met Ball together was when Julien [Dossena] first started at Rabanne. It was magic, and one of the most wonderful aspects of all this is the beautiful relationships we grow. So, I asked, and Julien said ‘yes,’ and here is the most perfect dress for Michelle.”
