Jennifer Lopez talks about changing her hair color
Jennifer Lopez is in the news for her blonde transformation. At a special screening of her musical film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, the 56-year-old singer-actor explained her concerns about donning a platinum blonde wig for her role as Aurora.
In a TikTok video, as reported by PEOPLE magazine, Lopez addressed the issue while speaking to the audience at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills, California. Lopez revealed she told director Bill Condon that she cannot wear a platinum blonde wig due to her Puerto Rican heritage.
“You know, Puerto Ricans really don’t do platinum blonde. I do blonde, I can do caramel, I can do honey, but I can’t do platinum blonde because the skin doesn’t allow for it,” she explained her stance.
However, the Latina star revealed the director was persistent about the platinum blonde wig, and she had no choice but to oblige with the demands of the role. She said, “Well, f*** it, let’s do it.'”
Following the screening on September 13, Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram on September 14 to share a carousel of pictures posing in her platinum blonde wig. In the first picture, the I’m Real singer is wearing a light pink dressing gown, accessorized with a salmon pink headband, showing off her platinum blonde hair.
The second picture captures Jennifer Lopez approving costume designs for her look. Her platinum blonde wig is tied in an elaborate bun and secured with a salmon pink headband.
The final picture captures the actress looking at her phone, her manicured hands covering her chest. She is wearing her hair in an elaborate bun, secured with a salmon pink headband, just like in the previous two photos.
She captioned the pictures with, “Stepping into the role of Aurora felt like dancing through the golden age of cinema … with all the glitz, glamour, and a whole lot of dancing. Stepping back into time has never been so much fun,” accompanied by a star emoticon.
Notably, Kiss of the Spider Woman will be released on October 10 in the United States.
