Taylor Swift to Likely Be Deposed in Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni Legal Battle — Report

Taylor Swift will likely testify in a deposition in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni‘s legal battle. The mega popstar reportedly remains involved in her estranged friend’s courtroom battle against her “It Ends With Us” co-star. Swift first got embroiled in the case after Baldoni named-dropped her in a since-dismissed countersuit against Lively and her husband and later issued a subpoena only to withdraw it. A report now claims she is still in the thick of the controversy.

Taylor Swift asked to take part in deposition after release of her next album

Taylor Swift might testify in the deposition in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle after the release of “The Life of a Showgirl.” The Daily Mail exclusively acquired court documents, which revealed the musician’s impending role in the forthcoming proceedings. Swift will reportedly provide testimony and evidence under oath following the new album’s release on October 3. This would mean her unwilling involvement in the case continues.

Additionally, the filings revealed that Baldoni’s team opposed a motion imposing a deadline for evidence gathering. They implied that their 30-day extension request was to delay the Grammy Winner’s participation in the deposition until “the week of October 20-25” due to her “preexisting professional obligations.” Reportedly, her and Lively’s text messages could possibly be central to her involvement in the forthcoming proceedings.

Baldoni had previously sought communications between Swift and Lively in his bid to secure evidence concerning the legal battle. He had alleged that their messages could disprove claims Lively made in her December 2024 lawsuit against him, which triggered the courtroom drama. Earlier this year, a judge reportedly ruled in Baldoni’s favor that he could access texts pertaining to “It Ends With Us.”

Before this, the director had issued separate subpoenas to Swift and her lawyers at Venable, seeking communications. His team later withdrew the subpoenas amid her and her lawyers’ efforts to squash his moves, with reports suggesting that they voluntarily received the information they had been looking for.

The latest update came weeks after Swift and her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, announced their engagement on Instagram.
