At the exclusive screening of their film One Battle After Another, Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor had nothing but praise for each other as they spoke to E! News. The reporter first spoke with DiCaprio, who revealed that the pair met at Diana Ross’ birthday party.
The Titanic star shared that they were “just joking around” and that “she’s got the best sense of humor.” He further added that he was aware Taylor was being considered for the female lead and said, “This girl’s going to bring the heat, and she did.”
The video then shifted to the reporter speaking with Teyana Taylor to get her side of the story and her take on the special bond she shares with Leonardo DiCaprio. She recalled that the first time she met him, she was chewing gum and watching Diana Ross perform. She was grooving to the music, not realizing that the Don’t Look Up actor was standing behind her.
34-year-old Taylor joked that she and DiCaprio “sized each other up,” hit it off instantly, and are now “inseparable.” The A Thousand and One actress added that while she was starstruck seeing him, she happened to be chewing gum and unintentionally showed her “resting b****face.”
However, toward the end, Teyana Taylor praised Leonardo DiCaprio, calling him “a mentor and a great leader on the set” of One Battle After Another. Notably, Paul Thomas Anderson’s film marks their first on-screen collaboration.
